The Australian sharemarket is in for another strong year in 2008, underpinned by a robust resources sector, Martin Place Securities’ chief Barry Dawes predicts.
Mr Dawes, the managing director of Martin Place Securities, says that the key drivers for the Australian economy in 2008 will be strong resource exports, with significantly higher prices expected for the key exports iron ore and coal.

Mr Dawes also believes that industrial metals will rebound, while gold prices are set to soar by the end of next year.
